Hi! I'm Julie and I love taking photos. I started on old film cameras as a child, and continued to pick up and pursue photography into adulthood. I love natural light photography, especially that golden hour, and capturing the uniqueness and beauty in the ordinary. As a photographer, I believe that photos let us capture a moment in time. Saving a little bit of a special moment to look back on later in life.
My portfolio currently consists of a great deal of random photos. There are photos I have taken for personal portrait sessions to ones of my dogs and dinner. Each of these required planning, setting up, and editing the shot. I strive to take clear, natural photos that capture the beauty in each shot. If you're interested in a shoot, please use the contact form below.
Lamar and Faye were married on January 11, 2015 at a small church in Fort Lawn, SC. Their wedding was held during the church's normal Sunday service, which is apparently something that used to happen all the time. They wanted to keep it simple and uncomplicated, and it was perfect! The flowers were gorgeous and the small church was decorated well. Afterward, there was cake and some food for everyone before we all adjourned for the day. While I wasn't the primary photographer, I tried to catch a few shots and stay out of the way. Congrats to Faye and Lamar on your wedding!
So, I have had this bucket list since I was about 15. One of the top things on it was to visit Seattle, WA. Luckily, I married someone who has a sister who lives in Snohomish, which is just north of Seattle. We decided to visit both the city as well as our new nephew, Beckett. We had so much fun exploring the city, including the needle, Pikes Place, and the Fremont Troll.
Fun at the farm, and various places in the US. I have always had an interest in animals, and constantly find myself around them. The cows pictures were taken while visiting my in-laws in Virginia, while the two dogs you see in the gallery are our pets. What can I say, animals are a great and usually cooperative subject.
Danielle is one of my longest friends and I had the pleasure of going to the new downtown Rock Hill and taking some shots around town. It was a super hot day, but we had fun and enjoyed spending the day together.
I have a love of baking. Luckily, I have plenty of family and friends who enjoy eating my creations. From cupcakes and cookies to Thomas Keller's roasted chicken, these are a few pics from my kitchen experiments.
These are some random pictures from our trip to Puerto Rico and around Waxhaw, NC.
